At age forty-nine, classical oboist Neal Bryan is at the pinnacle of a successful career, but life on the homefront is another story. With his marriage failing, and his college-aged son awakening to his own sexuality, Neal is forced to confront the bitter reality of an existence that is little more than a charade. When catalysts beyond his control provoke change, Neal must redefine his notions of true success, and what it means to live his life to the fullest. Will he be able to forgive himself, reconcile with his son, and in so doing, find the courage to seek, and ultimately embrace, happiness again?
