Bartholomew Bear and Francine the cat were best friends who lived in Toadstool Hollow. Bartholomew loved to take things apart and put them back together ending up with a completely different and creative. He was given a lamp and a radio and combined them to make a musical flash light. No one in Toadstool Hollow knew what he would use it for and some of them made fun of his invention. One of them was Egbert, the eagle. Egbert was the very one that was saved as a result of Bartholomew's invention as it lead them to his rescue.
