Forty full papers, 63 posters/short papers, and eight "young researcher" contributions make up these proceedings of the 2003 conference, along with a keynote address by Daniel D. Suthers on the topic of representational guidance for collaborative learning. General topics of the full papers include tutoring and feedback strategies and dialogs, student modeling and diagnosis, evaluation studies with intelligent tutors, and tutors for cognitive tasks. Other topics include design issues, hypermedia and web-based tutoring, collaborative learning, sharing and learning communities, distance learning, multimedia and agent technologies, engineering principles for educational systems, and non-standard interfaces and novel interaction principles.
