The Standards on Dual Jurisdiction Youth are the newest subject area of ABA Standards on Criminal Justice. The Standards provide courts and legal practitioners with best practices to improve the interaction of youth in the juvenile justice system with other child-serving systems such as education, child welfare and mental health. Those systems refer youth to the juvenile justice system, serve youth while they are in the juvenile justice system and receive youth who are re-entering society from that system.
