Tennessee, 1862: Two armies clash at a placecalled Shiloh. There, a wounded soldier makes a promise to a dying comrade to deliver his last letter home to his daughter. A silver locket with a tiny picture of her is his only clue. As he travels home to deliver her the news of her father, he comes to understand that the only thing worse than being considered an enemy in your own home state is falling in love with a woman you have never met.
