A Dakota-English Dictionary (1852) is the seventh volume of a nine-part series Contributions to North American Ethnology (all available from Cosimo Classics). At the time, the Dakota language consisted of three well-defined dialects: the Santee, Yankton, and Teton. This is the most comprehensive lexicon available that lists all the words in their combined vocabularies and their English translations.
