The book also covers more down to Earth chemical rocket scenarios in contexts that may be realized this century. Accordingly, chemical rocket systems capable of attaining mildly relativistic velocities are proposed. Numerous tables and graphs are included within providing a broad range of scenarios such as for mass-ratios, fractional velocities of light, and Lorentz factors. The book provides numerous step-by-step calculations and formulations many of which are pleasantly relatively simple but with far-reaching ramifications. It is my hope that upon careful reading of this book, the reader will come away with a new appreciation for what chemical rockets, and more generally, chemical powered spacecraft can accomplish.
